• The FTN Universal Studios Report: 02-08-2013

The main building crane for Transformers is now removed from the park and lots of exterior theming projects have begun massively, on three of the four sides columns with lights and speakers are part of the building now and painting is progressing with a bar-code and little details added to the exterior props, granted we don’t think a secret quasi-government organization would have a bar-code AND their name on the building but then again we’re just civilians. As part of a bonus we have some Mardi Gras prep work and merchandise to conclude the report.

Shrek and Donkey Meet and Greet:
There is no denying this is the brand new meet and greet for Shrek and Donkey with the new awning installed and the repainting all around it, also the waffles stand is installed with a small room inside for no reason at all, *ruining the magic we could* Expect this to open very soon.

Update 02/09/2013- some more cloth was added to the Awning:

      Transformers The Ride: 3D
The props keep appearing on the building with new columns stretching along the music plaza side, the Shrek side, and now the lagoon side, each containing a visible light and a speaker hidden within. Only the New York side remains untouched, for now. Also during out visit they painted a new decal along the music plaza side and were re-arranging the construction walls to allow passage along the side from Mel’s to Shrek again. Alone the lagoon side the road is being rebuilt to allow for the increased traffic from guests wanting to ride and wait for it.

As seen from the Parking Garage:

Some of the Hard Hats and Shirts seen around the site:

Merchandise: Some new Lego type figures are for sale at the park, along with a great deal for those buying up the figures.

Update 02/09/2013 - Some more stencil work has been added to the decorations being installed as well as the beginnings of another graphic, this time for the NEST logo, one would imagine this would have been secret but their name is all over the building.

      Mardi Gras2013:
The merchandise for this year’s event is similar to years past except with one thing, a mascot of sorts has appeared on a t-shirt and a figure. He represents the Day of the Dead in a way mixed with a little bit of voodoo from down in nawlins. He also bears a resemblance to a sidekick of Beetle Juice’s from the animated TV series. Remember we’re going to be Mardi Gras tonight so watch for those tweets and instagram photos!

        Thanks for the great updates!

Quick question: What did they end up doing in that stage they put up (in the area between Twister and Mummy)?

The french quarter often had a cover band or a authentic New Orleans band come in to play for area atmosphere, most years it was against the herc and xena building but with the transformers construction it had to move so they placed it where the christmas tree goes each year for the holidays.

The design in the 2/9 update is not a stencil. Within a matter of hours it was outlined by hand on the wall and painting started. It was quite amazing.

Sorry about that, but the rest of the markings on the building we could see were stenciled on, We'll be back soon for another update to see the new NEST logo.
