• A June 19 Epcot Update

Spent a few hours on Monday evening at Epcot to see the latest progress on Via Napoli and took quite a few photos from around World Showcase including some shots I missed from the Bijutsu-kan Gallery’s current exhibit: “Spirited Beasts: From Ancient Stories to Anime Stars” as well as other random shots.

World Showcase has some brand new directional signs found at the main entrance from Future World. These signs point the direction to the various countries around the World Showcase lagoon and also thank the guests for visiting. The sign is a welcome change but some guests have pointed out the informal use “thanks” rather than the proper “thank you.” New to Me are speakers hanging from the light polls on the bridge from Future World to World Showcase. They were not turned on and appeared to be rather new.

Progressing along since our last photo update is the new La Hacienda de San Angel and renovated La Cantina de San Angel. It appears more paint has been applied to the exterior.

Over in the Germany pavilion the Glas Und Porzellan store has closed and is being transformed into the Karamelle-Küche which in German means “caramel kitchen.” The shop will feature a show kitchen with cast members making fresh caramel popcorn, caramel apples, caramel-covered strawberries and marshmallows. Werther’s Original candy will be on the shelves, and the shop also will include gourmet caramels, cookies, brownies, fudge and cupcakes.
