• LEGOLAND Water Park Construction Tour: 01-24-2012


      The brand new LEGOLAND Water park at LEGOLAND Florida is scheduled to open to guests Saturday May 26, 2012 and is going to look amazing. What was once the Splash Island water park at Cypress Gardens is currently in the midst of a transformation with brand new Lego inspired decor. The new water park is an up-charge extension of the LEGOLAND Florida park costing an additional $12 on the base ticket price, the best way to experience it is with a premium annual pass.

      On Monday January 24 LEGOLAND Florida invited the local media to tour the water park and to see what was in store for park guests later that summer.

      Upon entering the water park we get our first look at the final layout.

      Our first stop on the tour was to the Joker Soaker. This interactive playground features slides with with various lengths, heights that offer something different for every member of the family. Guests can wade in the surrounding pool and be surprised with a torrential spill from a 300-gallon bucket




      Out next stop was Splash Out where thrill seekers can ascend to the tallest point of the water park and choose from three unique slides, then speed down a 60-foot drop and "splash out" into the water below.

      Next to Splashout is Twin Chasers, On ths slide Friends ride tubes 375 feet down an intertwining pair of enclosed water slides before plunging into a refreshing pool below.



      A central component of the water park is the LEGO Wave Pool. While most wave pools are big and powerful this one is designed perfectly for Families can gerating gentle waves. This are also features the Imagination Station where kids will be able to create and test LEGO creations with water elements.



      Near the entrnace is the DUPLO® Splash Safari. This brand new area will be exclusively for Toddlers who will will rule at this water play area with shorter slides and interactive, larger-than-life DUPLO creatures. Unlike the rest of the park this is being built brand new.



      The centerpiece of the waterpark is the Build-A-Raft River, surounding the entrance of the park families can imagine, design and build a unique LEGO vessel and set afloat on a maiden voyage around the 1000-foot-long lazy river, set amongst playful LEGO Friends, flowering vegetation and palm trees.



      The final photographs showcase the entrance to the park where lockers, a store, and a resturant will be located.
