Mardi Gras 2010

Although nothing official from Universal has been released, it looks like the following acts will be at Mardi Gras. Information gathered from Pollstar and various artist websites. I will update the list as I learn more.

Saturday 04/17 Daddy Mack Blues Band

The Daddy Mack blues band was great last year...

I wonder where the "2nd stage" will be... or does it simply mean they will perform first as a warm up act right after the parade?

The second stage has always been in the "French Quarter", near Delancy Street. It is a VERY small stage, but has some very good performers. After Katrina, Universal decided to invite local New Orleans performers to Mardi Gras.

perhaps they are looking at upgrading it.. since they are making a big deal out of this years mardis gras.

Once again there are TWO bonus days, Sunday February 14 and Friday April 9.

I have edited the original post with all groups on both stages.

I went to Mardi Gras last night.. And I must say that I had an AWESOME time. I also regret screaming so much for all the beads.. My throat hurt so bad this morning.. But tons of beads that I have no idea what I'm going to do with is always great.

One thing I love about Universal is they know sex sells.. All the hot chicks with skimpy clothing on stilts! Yeah, buddy!

Anyway.

KC was a pretty good performance. I grew up on KC, so I was excited when I found out they were going to be there opening weekend. He puts on an excellent performance.

I felt sorry for some of the performers with the skimpy outfits with the temps being as cold as they were. A good mix of old and new floats with an unusual placement of the River Boat starting off the parade.

Agreed. The cake stilt walkers seemed to be the coldest.. Or so I gathered from their body language. I hope it's warmer next weekend for them!
