Where Comics Come to
Life |

Adjacent to the Port of Entry and park entrance lies a land
full of heroes and villains. The classic Marvel comic books come to life
on Super
Hero Island. This island is home to two of the most popular rides in the
park, the Incredible Hulk and
the Amazing
Adventures of Spiderman, as well as shopping, dining, and other thrilling
rides. Super Hero Island also contains the tallest ride in the park,
Doctor Doom's Fearfall, at 199'. The two towers
of the ride can be seen from miles away.

The engineers and architects
of Universal created a futuristic city in the heart of Orlando. Mixed into
these buildings are shops, restaurants, and thrill rides. Throughout the
day, characters from Marvel comics will roam the area. This is a great
opportunity for children to meet the characters they see in cartoons and
comic books up-close. Be sure to watch for the superheroes and villains on
motorcycles in the Marvel Character Patrol too.

The main focus of Marvel Super
Hero Island is towards the thrill seekers, but many of these attractions
can be enjoyed by the whole family. As long as everyone in your
family meets the height requirement for a certain ride, these are
some attractions that can be enjoyed by everyone.
-The Amazing Adventures of
Spiderman
- A three-dimensional
motion simulator with a 40" height requirement. Spiderman may be too scary
for some young children, however, if at anytime that they should become
frightened, all they have to do is close their eyes.
-Storm Force Accelatron
- A ride with individual, spinning cars. If you have the stomach to handle
it, children and adults can enjoy this ride together. |

Teenagers and Thrill Seekers |
|
If you are an adrenaline junkie
or just a teenager looking to have a good time, Marvel Super Hero Island
is for you. The following attractions will keep you entertained and
craving for more.
-The Incredible Hulk Coaster -
A Bolliger and Mabillard launched sit-down
looping roller coaster. The initial launch of forty miles per hour in two
seconds will satisfy your need for adrenaline instantly. You must be 54"
tall to ride on the Incredible Hulk.
-Doctor Doom's Fearfall
- A S&S Power air launched drop tower. If
you feel like leaving your stomach nearly two hundred feet in the
air, be sure to ride Doctor Doom.
-Kingpin's Arcade
