Permits were recently filed with the city of Tampa for what we are calling “Project 2013.” The permit details are pretty detailed in stating the intentions to relocate the existing Sandstorm flat ride and construct “2013 ride” in its place. While these permits don’t state where sandstorm will be relocated to it does state the ride will be relocated and not removed.

The location of sandstorm is interesting as it is smack in the middle of the park and accessible by guests from either end of the park as well as easily accessible ...

Just minutes before taking the stage at Busch Gardens’ Bands, Brew & BBQ festival on Sunday, Feb. 19, former Poison frontman and reality TV star Bret Michaels met the most popular – and hairiest – of Busch Gardens’ Animal Ambassadors team, Harry the sloth.

Thanks to its thick, shaggy hair, the sloth has an unusual, symbiotic relationship with algae, which grows on its coat and aids in camouflaging the sloth as it hangs from tree branches.

The Busch Gardens’ zoo educators also brought a young southern ground hornbill named Tufts to meet Michaels ...

TAMPA, Fla. (February 3, 2012) – Busch Gardens Tampa Bay welcomed a new baby female reticulated giraffe on Monday, January 27, 2011. Mystical Mirage is this year’s filler show at the desert grill designed to fill in the gap between Christmas and Burn the floor. This show brings the Dumas Belly Dancers back to the park after a holiday hiatus. Also returning are live percussionists and new to the show is an acrobat who does some amazing feats. All in all this is an entertaining show.

The Belly Dancers in the show were previously dancing in the cheetah hunt plaza at Crown Colony and retain most of the original show, however the change in venue enhances the performance by creating a more dramatic ...

While the new Animal Care Center at Busch Gardens Tampa opens to the public January 23 the media was invited on a tour of the facility last Thursday with Jack Hannah and the complex looks amazing. Never before have the general public been invited to be so close and even take part in the care services, from nutrition to treatments, X-rays to surgeries, much of Busch Gardens’ animal care will be conducted in guest view in this new state-of-the-art facility.

New Year’s Day is a time of family, and a time for last minute Christmas shows at Busch Gardens. This year however it was also a day of music. Since New Year’s Day fell on a Sunday this year the annual college bowl games were postponed by a day allowing the Outback Bowl to hold their battle of the bands exhibition at Busch Gardens on New Year’s Day. The following photos showcase the battle of the bands, as well as a quick look at what caught our eye this visit to the park. Sit back and enjoy the First Report of the Year.

The Animal Hospital is out from behind walls and all that remians is final touches inside. Also new are advertisements for the Safari Tours, they include a QR code to scan.

Games have been getting switched out but one in particular caught my attention. In Stanlyville the former hoop game was repalced by a customized water shooting game called "SheiKra Drop". The game is interestingly designed upon the original incarnation of the ride rather than the floorless one. Else where photo kiosks are getting ...

Even though most families have yet to enjoy their Turducken, deep Friend turkey, or whatever they enjoy for thanksgiving the holidays have already high kicked into gear at Busch Gardens Tampa this week, the following photos were taken on November 21st and 22nd

So grab a turkey leg from the nearest stand and enjoy the photos!
The tree at the entrance to the park looks just as amazing as ever, and back this year are the wonderful elves who are on stacked presents ready to pose for photos with park guests, it’s amazing the park doesn’t do more photo ops like this inside the park with their own photographers.
