We’re a little behind on the latest news but both of central Florida's Haunts, Busch Gardens Tampa's Howl-O-Scream (HOS) and Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights (HHN), are in the final running for About.com's Reader Choice awards for Best Theme Park Haunt of 2011.


Voting began for this award on February 22, but they are continuing throughout March to Mar. 21. Everyone can vote once per day.

The attraction formerly known as Galaxy Spin has a new name and is almost ready to open. The Power Trip Coaster has been assembled at Fun Spot USA and with its new paint job sporting yellow track with now blue supports and hardware is almost ready to open. When these photos were taken it appeared the entire track was installed and just some final mechanisms were needed to be installed and hooked up to allow for the first test runs and an eventual opening which is currently targeted for July 2 according to the Fun Spot USA Facebook page.
